Free Agency Thing of the Past? Extensions thing of the Future?

As we roll on into the first few weeks of the season we have seen a few interesting things happen that we have not seen in years past.  We have seen teams decide to not wait long to sign their star or big players to multiple year extensions.  This has been a little uncommon from the norm.  Most of the time players wait to go into free agency to test the waters, but now we have seen once of the worst and longest lasting free agency periods for guys in recent past.  In the new era of young stars climbing up the ranks in swarms.  The people of the world have taken notice to the damning trails of free agency.  Players are now going to be more concerned with job security compared to getting the biggest deal they can.  It has been made readily known now in the MLB the players are losing a lot of power in making their big time earnings.  Players will now take a little less money in return for knowing they have an easy road ahead and a job in return.
We still have Kimbrell and Kuechel on the market due to them asking for deals that many teams may see as too much money or too long of a deal.  Its rough to see that the people stuck in free agency just like these guys have to wear it with any prior warning.  It just doesn't seem fair or right that these star players got themselves into a sticky situation no one has ever seen  They are the product of the MLB teams testing their power and winning out and we may not see anything happen for some time or until later in the year when injuries and issues with teams start poking their head.
